Steve Aoki and Armand Van Helden's BRRRAT!

I never thought I would see the day where I would actually make a post about Steve Aoki. However, this isn't necessarily a positive post about him when thinking about it. If anything, Aoki probably kept this song from reaching it's true potential. I can see it now.
Aoki- "Hey Helden, I think in the middle of this song I should say WOOP! WOOP! what do you think?"

Helden- "Hmm, you know Steve I see where you're coming from but uhhh...yah... I think people are over the whole Warp thing."

Aoki- "Fuck you, shut up and make a bunch of weird sounds while I come up with some really cool words that I can say in a break in a song. REMEMBER TO LEAVE ME A BREAK IN THE SONG SO I CAN SAY MY FUCKING PART ARMAND!!!"

"Uh hey Steve, can you not touch that knob, I don't want you fucking up our set. Thanks."

However, I'm mainly posting this video pretty much because the video is so incredibly strange. The only thing that I really respect Aoki for is the fact that he is an excellent business man and his dad also owns Benihanas, and I love Benihanas. First time I ever witnessed Steve Aoki perform was 2 years ago while I was happily watching the Bloody Beetroots perform live. All of a sudden they transition into a song I wasn't familiar with and low and behold Steve Aoki comes out and starts yelling to one of his crap songs. Instant Buzzkill. I feel like he is the little brother that tugs on your pant leg when your playing with your friends who wants to get in on the fun who says "I wanna pway" and big brother replies "No Steve! This is supposed to be for big kids". He definitely has a way of taking away the spotlight from other DJs just so he can shout some incomprehensible words.

FUCK YA THANKSGIVING!!!

First off, sorry for the lack of posts lately. I have been pretty swamped with things but hopefully I am able to make up for it. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and watched a ton of football. I think this picture about sums up my Thanksgiving.

Anyway, here are some tracks to satisfy that need.

JR is 2good

JR Rotem may be my favorite producer. I like his hip-hop beats and his gayer and more incredible songs such as "Love Like Woe". His track on Nicki Minaj's new album Pink Friday is no different. Check it before it's blowing up your xm 20 on 20.

Playboy Tracks

Here is some new music that has been kicking my ass the past week. Some of it may give you a headache but that's OK that just means it's working.

Goose- Can't Stop Me Now (Bloody Beetroots Remix)

I had almost given up on the Bloody Beetroots. Sure they have been extremely successful which is great but at the same time I felt like their album 'Ramborama' with their hit 'Warp 1.9' was more or less a big shit in nice packaging. With their remix of Can't Stop Me Now it reminds me of the glory days when the Bloody Beetroots made in your face banger remixes that made you want to punch somebody in the face, run from the police, and get in a high speed car chase. Check it out here.

First off I hate kids. Second I love remixes. Third this song is right up my alley

KRUSHA Remixes Metric

Thought I would drop these 2 Metric remixes on you since they are epic. They are done by a DJ by the name of KRUSHA from Vancouver. What I thought was cool is the name KRUSHA actually is from Donkey Kong so I can appreciate that. Here they are.

New Album: Girl Talk- All Day

I'm still feeling the royal ass kicking from Vegas this weekend but I saw that Girl Talk released his new album today and I had to instantly make a post about it. I personally love Girl Talk (aka Gregg Gillis) with his unique use of songs mashed in every album. Even though he more or less just presses a play button when performing live he still dresses it up nicely and parties pretty hard on stage. Not too sure if he does this anymore due to his success but when he used to perform live he used to just press play on his laptop and then just jump into the crowd and start dancing. Not a shabby way to pay those bills. What's even cooler than that is the fact that he used to study biomedical engineering at Case Western Reserve University and he decided to drop that for music. Now I know there are a bunch of people that just drop out of school for music but let's get some perspective on how crazy this is. Case Western Reserve University is ranked 41st in the nation in university rankings and it's medical school is in the top 5... Most people would call somebody who drops out of an education like that stupid but Gillis went for it. He also was in a documentary called RIP! A Remix Manifesto. Check out the album and documentary below.

VEGAS BABY!

Headed off to Vegas in a few hours to commit various acts of debauchery while dancing my face off at the same time. Last time I was in Vegas was for my birthday so I am trying to make up some ground on the parts where I slacked on last time. Anygay I wanted to leave you with some tunes before I left. I am already predicting I will hear The Bloody Beetroot's 'Warp 1.9' about 200 times this weekend along with 400 times of 'Fly Like A G6' by Far East Movement but I'm not going to talk about how those songs make me feel I will leave that to the photo below

Here are a few songs that I remember hearing last time in Vegas and a few songs that I hope to hear in Vegas and wish me luck, I hope my night goes just as good as this guys.

A Trak - Loonies to blow by ANPLAYBOYS

Chuckie and LMFAO - Let The Bass Kick In Miami Beach by ANPLAYBOYS

Every Time I Die Shit Happens

Most people reading this have probably never heard of Every Time I Die before and I know this is going pretty off tracks with the genre of music but even if your not into hardcore this band is funny as hell. If there was a modern day Rockstar lifestyle stereotype(as far as party lifestyle) these guys would be the epitome. I have seen this band a ton of times and they put on one of the best live shows ever and the guys are incredibly fun even though I got into a pretty heated argument with them about hockey a few years back but that's all good now. They have been releasing their own band DVD's for the past few years and it pretty much is a full DVD of them doing the stupidest things ever but it's hilarious. They recently released a new series of their touring adventures and they are great. Here is the Cliff Notes version of the series but feel free to go to http://www.vans.com/microsites/etid/ to view every episode.

Try watching the whole video, I know it's long but there is some funny clips within it.

Skrillex pt. 2

Yes another post about Skrillex, I know this is kind of lame to do but seeing as how he is beginning to do pretty well for himself thought I would post some of his other new songs that are blowing my mind. Since the last post about Skrillex I have talked to some people I know who were around during the days of his old band and when I tell them what he is up to now every initial reaction is the same. They bust up laughing. It may also be important to point out out of the top 10 downloaded songs on beatport.com, Skrillex has 8 of those spots...Pretty damn impressive. Here are some more of his songs. Make sure you turn it up though so you can hear it well enough, the songs are somewhat mellow.

Friends Electric

First time I listened to this bands epic song 'Golden Blood' it reminded me of Miike Snow's 'A Horse is not a Home' but regardless of that the band has a great sound.

Halos

Halos was formed in 2006 in Orange County, CA (aka my stomping ground). I've seen this band perform numerous times and they never disappoint. They just released a new video and it is done extremely well.

Keegan DeWitt

Keegan DeWitt is a song writer for Nashville Tennessee who released a EP called nothing shows back in July. The EP is amazing but he recently released a video for one of his songs ' Hearts Beat Loud' and the video is great. Check it out

Tron + Daft Punk = Epic

Many of you now know that Daft Punk is doing the soundtrack for Tron and for some really ridiculous reason I have chosen not to listen to any of it till I see the movie. However, I couldn't help myself when I saw that Daft Punk had released a mini music video for one of their songs with their new kick ass Tron Suits.

Game Over

It's been a while since I have posted anything on grime music so I thought Tinchy Stryder's new video for 'Game Over' would be a good opportunity. It has a pretty star studded grime cast in the video including Giggs, Professor Green, Tinie Tempah, Devlin, Example, Chipmunk, and Tinchy Stryder himself. I've never gotten too into Giggs, Prof. Green, or Chipmunk but the rest I love. Here's the video along with some of my other favorite videos from the others.

I wanted to post Devlin's video for 'Giant' but no embedding, this will suffice
