The Hip-Hop Word Count
A man by the name of Tahir Hemphill is putting together a Hip Hop lyric database so you can see which rappers throughout history first started rapping about certain things like Nike shoes or Courvoisier. They are trying to get it fully funded so go here to check it out.

The Electro Wars
The long anticipated documentary called 'Electro Wars' finally premiered in New York tonight. I've been waiting for this to come out for a long time so keep on the look out for when it pops up on the internet. In short the documentary is about how the electronic scene has completely exploded. Check out the trailer and if you are curious what the epic song is at the end I got you covered on that as well.

Coachella Officially Sold Out

Yep that's right. Coachella is sold out. It only took 6 days for it to happen and Coachella has set a record for itself. Last year tickets didn't sell out till a week before the event. The festival has confirmed through Twitter that they won't be selling any more tickets. Right now the average price for a ticket on the internet is going for between $800-$900. Let that sink in for a second...... Now watch this video and I'm sure you will find you have the same reaction.

New Skrillex Tracks

He has done it again. Skrillex has released a few new songs that will rape your ear drums. The fact that he potentially will play these songs at Coachella is blowing my mind.
Professor Green Remixes

Alone, Professor Green has never done much for me. I have a lot of respect for him but I have never been able to get too into his music. However a while ago I stumbled upon a remix of his song 'Monster' that I thought was incredible. Recently another remix of Professor Green has been released which is equally as good. Check them out.

My Most Anticipated Artists Playing Coachella
I know it has been a while since my last post so please excuse the absence. I won't go into why I've been gone but just know I'M FUCKING BACK! I have been itching to make this post ever since the Coachella lineup got released. So here are some of the artists that you should get really jacked up to see and pirate as much music as humanly possible.
1. Tinie Tempah
I've made a few posts about Tinie Tempah but to say the least he is a fucking boss. Don't believe me? Watch this video and try and tell me otherwise.
If you're not familiar with the genre "grime" then you best start educating yourself on it. I've been saying it for a while now but I think grime will very soon cross over to America and make a big impact and it all starts at one of the best scenes to make it happen with the poster boy of grime. I highly recommend being there for when he plays because you may be watching something really great develop.
2. Skrillex
Yes, Skrillex. I know he's been the hot shit recently but rightfully deserved. I made a post about Skrillex a while ago that many of you may find interesting especially since it drops some knowledge on his past however I will give you a paraphrased version. The guy used to be the singer of an emo/hardcore band that I had to deal with for many years at my work. Sunny (aka Skrillex) is more or less a big turd sandwich but he makes insanely good music. This is really the first time Skrillex is playing in front of such an enormous crowd and at such a well known music festival. I went from seeing him 2 years ago play in front of about 50 people to going to see him perform in front of thousands. Mad props. He deserves it.
3. Jimmy Eat World
Insanely good live, go see them. People may complain this band is too mainstream or "emo" but excuse my language, go fuck yourself if you think that.
4. Duck Sauce
They have 3 songs... 3 songs out!!! This offshoot side project of A Trak and Helden turned out much better than either of them probably expected. I know the crowd is probably just going to be awkwardly fidgeting waiting to hear Barbra Streisand but sure it will be worth it.
5. Death From Above 1979
I saved the best for last. Now if you have never heard of this group then let me get you up to speed. This is a group compsed of a bass player and a drummer. The drummer sings as well. I used to go see this band play at random ass art museums in LA about 5 years ago. When they broke up their bass player went on to form MSTRKRFT. This group was one of the initial groups that really gave berth to the whole electronic, indie, remixing scene. When I heard they were reuniting at Coachella I half shit myself and half broke out in tears of joy. Get your hands on this music because when they play you best know the songs because they are going to bring the house down.

Feed Me

I know it's been a while since I've made a post. I've been crazy busy. Thought I would bring it back with a post about Feed Me. He is currently on Deadmau5's label Mau5trap along with Skrillex. Check out some of his tracks. I recommended Talk to Me.

Skrillex - Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites (Redial's Blastoise Edit)

There's been a lot of people remixing Skrillex tracks lately and frankly all of them are pretty shitty. When I saw that Australian DJ Redial had remixed Skrillex's most well known track I knew there was a good chance it was going to be good. The track kicks ass despite it only being a little over two minutes long. Give it a listen along with some other Redial tracks.

Sleeping At Last- Snow
With the Christmas spirit starting to fade and everyone starting to get back into the grind of working I thought I would post Sleeping At Last's new video for their Christmas song 'Snow'. It's been a while since I have heard a really good original Christmas song but 'Snow' is a very soothing melodic song that is elegantly written. They also recently released a Christmas album where they covered a bunch of classic Christmas tunes which you can get HERE
Tapes 'N Tapes
A couple weeks ago Tapes 'N Tapes released a new video for their song 'Freak Out' and I've been meaning to post it ever since. Pretty entertaining video along with a great song.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Together As One Review

Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you all survived the night and are successfully nursing that hangover of yours. I spent my night at Together As One and thought I would do a little review of the night and post some music. First, I want to talk about Dada Life who I predict are going to have a very successful year ahead of them. They have been playing a unreleased track during their sets the past few months that I am eagerly awaiting. Check the video below to see it performed live at EDC. The song sounds really damn good and I think it is going to give them a good boost.
Rusko's set was entertaining even though the person operating the projectors blew it on the midnight countdown. The timer started at 30 seconds but I noticed that the seconds were going by too slow and then when it got to 10 seconds it sped up and it ended up being totally off and Rusko hardly built up the countdown which was disappointing. The thing that I really was happy about with Rusko was the fact that he played the Alex Metric remix of 'Sabotage' by the Beastie Boys.
The DJ who I enjoined the most had to be Nero. His song selection was great and he had the most engaging set. He also closed with Innocence which was pretty baller. The one stand out track that he played that I was most pumped on was an oldie but a goodie, Sebastian's remix of 'Cheap and Cheerful' by the Kills.
Biggest disappointed was Wolfgang Gartner who I was extremely excited to see but his set was very average and poorly mixed.
Other than that I officially received "King Tut" as my raver name from a girl who looked like a crack whore in fur boots and a wig. It was a good night of music but just like every other rave Together As One is just a big damn circus with people rolled out of their minds.
