I've never heard of KillaGraham before but he recently released these 2 epic remixes. I have always wanted to hear a good remix of 'Say it Aint So' by Weezer and it finally came true. Listen to these and enjoy.
My friend showed me this website the other day called Go Barbra where you are able to input your own lyrics into the part of the song that says "Barbra Streisand". If you have no Idea what I'm talking about "Barbra Streisand" is a song by DJ Duo Duck Sauce
Back in the day I used to do some work for a band called Takota and unfortunately they broke up and have recently started a new band called Beta Wolf. Big ups to my boys Grant, Brett, and Danny in the band. Check out their videos below.
Bare Noize was probably one of the first dubstep DJs that I really got into and recently he has been dropping some massive remixes. He recently has been doing some collaboration work with Skrillex and Tinie Tempah. Check out some of these new tracks below.
Toxic Avenger just released this extremely weird music video. I will admit the guy who is dancing has some pretty sweet moves and I think the guy gets the shit beaten out of him because he doesn't dance as well. Who knows. The song is great though. Enjoy.
This blog post has very little to do with music whatsoever but I thought it was definitely worth making a post about my experience hanging out with Gary & Jake Busey. Before I get into my evening with them let me give some background on Gary Busey if by some weird chance you were born yesterday and don't know who he is.
Gary Busey is one of the finest "bad guy" actors in movie history. Some movies he's been in that you may recognize are Lethal Weapon, Predator 2, Point Break, Black Sheep, and Rookie of the Year. You probably have also seen him in Entourage or the Simpsons. The man has been in over 120 films and has been nominated for a damn Grammy. Also, his son was there which you may have seen him in 1 of the most epic movies ever made. Starship Troopers
Even though Gary Busey has such an impressive resume within films people mainly remember him for 1 simple trait. He's fucking crazy. Don't believe me? Youtube search Gary Busey and literally any video has to do with Gary Busey being just that, crazy.HERE is a link to watch some of the best videos of him. Also, Gary has 1 of the best stories ever in that he once did Cocaine off his dog Chili.
Here is the Piece from Maxim Magazine: What was the freakiest thing you ever snorted blow off of when you were a prominent coke fiend?
I came home one day, took off my windbreaker, and three bindles of cocaine fell to the floor. Well, my dog, Chili, who has short hair, came in and laid on her back with her legs in the air, and she rubbed all my cocaine on her back and side. I yelled, "No, Chili! No" So I got a straw, and I started brushing her hair and snorting where I saw cocaine. Back, butt, side — not a spot was left. It took me 25 minutes to snort all the cocaine the dog had on her coat. The fringe benefits of this were that the fleas, the dog hair, the mud, and the sweat went in my nose, too. It’s not a good flavor coming off the dog.
So how the hell did I spend my night hanging out with this man? Let me begin.
I was at my former/current place of employment where I was going to see a band that I grew up jamming to, New Found Glory. As I walked up everyone that worked there instantly told me that "oh man Gary Busey is here, he's crazy". Now the first thing that registered in my mind was the fact that at our ticket window we have always had a big print out picture of the funny Gary Busey family portrait up at the top of this blog entry just on our window. I thought to myself, shit, what are the chances that we had that ridiculous picture of him up and he fucking shows up. So of course I looked at our window and it was taken down. So I casually went up to Gary and introduced myself and it was all downhill from there. I ended up talking with him and hanging with him the entire night. The best part of this was the Gary Busey quotes I got. We were somehow talking about weight lifting or something and he says "I was born with the strength of 10 men". Later I told him it was my birthday on Saturday and he told me "On Saturday you will have circled the sun 22 times, think about it". Later once we were up in the booth at the back of the place all he wanted to do was "throw linguine over all these fuckers". Over this time there were sprinkled random noises that he would just make or shout that would catch you off guard but it was great. Gary Busey is the man and 1 of the most interesting people I have ever met. If you ever see him meet him. He's a boss.
Dada Life have been quite busy recently with all their releases and the hype of all their new material starting to come out. They just released their February Mixtape which if you didn't know they make one every month and they are always good so click below to get it. Download: Dada Life February Mix
James Blake recently released his first full length self titled album. The album is great and I highly recommend getting it. For some it's a bit difficult to get used to his style but once you do it's a great listen. Its combination of piano mixed with minimal dub makes for an interesting combination. Not to mention his soulful voice which for some reason makes me think of Jeff Buckley every time I hear it. Here are two of his videos to give you a taste.
It was a shocker but Arcade Fire walked away with Album of the Year at the Grammy's over Eminem's album 'Recovery'. Reading some of the reviews of this have been both refreshing and for lack of a better word, shitty. Some people have praised Arcade Fire (including myself) for showing that just because you don't sell 4 million albums (like Eminem's album) you can come away with the big W. Other's have been shitting all over the band saying that they didn't deserve it since they only sold 484,000 copies of their album 'The Suburbs'. Eminem had to once again go home without the Album of the Year and only received 2 out of the 10 grammys he was nominated for.
side note: Big Ups to Lady Antebellum for winning Best Song of the Year & Best New Artist. Hopefully this doesn't lead to Justin Bieber (Best New Artist Loser) going on a sad rampant cocaine/alcohol binge that leaves him to be Corey Feldman Pt. 2. Actually...I hope it does happen. Would make for a great blog post.
Final note: Congrats Arcade Fire, you deserve it. Party your faces off.
The Super Bowl is this weekend and frankly I could care less who wins this game. There's USC alumni on both teams so either way that's one more Trojan with a ring. Anyway, Weezy released a freestyle called 'Green and Yellow' in support of the Green Bay Packers. Check it here.
Dada Life has released their new song 'White Noise/Red Meat" along with releasing a video for it. I have yet to find out what the meaning behind the champagne and bananas are but I am game. The video doesn't make very much sense except for the hot girls wrestling in bananas. Good song and good video.
