Luke Holland- Ellie Goulding Starry Eyed Drum Cover

If there was one thing that I could go back in time and do at a young age it would be to learn how to play drums which makes watching this video very difficult for me at times because Luke Holland is so damn good. This kid is 17 years old and he's better than most of the top drummers out there. He recently released a video of him covering Ellie Goulding's Starry Eyed which clearly shows his incredible skill. I've also included his cover of Chris Brown's 'Look At Me Now'. If you watch both of these videos and somehow don't want to instantly learn how to play drums. There's something wrong with you.

Amon Tobin's New Stage Design

I don't listen to very much Amon Tobin but I have always been fascinated by artists who heavily invest in elaborate stage production such as Deadmau5, Birdy Nam Nam, Muse, Etienne De Crecy, etc. I must say though that Amon Tobin's new stage setup is arguably the most impressive out of all that I have seen. Check out the video below and prepare to have your mind blown.

Example- Stay Awake (Official Video)

Grime powerhouse Example doing it again with his new song and video for 'Stay Awake'. He's dropping a new album titled 'Playing With Shadows' September 4th and be prepared because their is a star studded cast. Stay Awake was produced by Nero but the album also includes production from Feed Me, Felguk, Laidback Luke, Michael Woods, Chase & Status, Skream, and Dirty South. I'm really hoping Example catches on in the United States because I think he could be an incredible mainstream hit. Everyone thought Tinie Tempah was going to be the one to really make the push for grime music in the U.S. but it hasn't really been panning out that way. Another track included on the upcoming album that has seen great success in the U.K. is 'Changed the Way You Kiss Me' produced by Michael Woods which hopefully becomes a must play song in every club in the U.S. Check both videos out below and keep your fingers crossed for Example. He deserves it.

Calvin Harris- Feel So Close (Official Video)

Calvin Harris dropping another great heart felt song that aligns perfectly with the video. To me, Calvin Harris needs to do more tracks like this that are written more from an emotional standpoint yet still have a fun dancy vibe to them. The video is simple and even includes Calvin Harris himself driving a pickup truck.

Afrojack EDC 5 minute Documentary

Afrojack put together this little documentary of him at EDC which includes some really cool footage of EDC Vegas and he talks a little bit about what he's currently doing. Check it out.

Foster the People- Helena Beat (Official Video)

It's crazy how fast Foster the People have blown up in the past few months but they totally deserve it especially with such a great album under their belt. Today they released a video for their hit 'Helena Beat' which has a Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome vibe to it. The video looks like a pretty high budget music video and often when bands try to make music videos with as much going on in this video it often can go south. That's not the case with this video. Very well done music video and the song fits nicely with it. Enjoy the video along with a sweet remix of 'Pumped Up Kicks'.

James Blake First US Television Performance

James Blake appeared on the Jimm Fallon show the other night for his first US television performance. I've always loved Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel for both always having great up and coming bands perform on their show. I'm a big James Blake fan however I do believe there's something wrong when your two most known songs are covers (Wilhelm Scream & Limit To Your Love). As far as Blake's live performance goes it's not all that interesting or engaging. He's not very able to capture the big spacey sound from his album. My hope is that as he grows he's able to dress up his performance more with an elaborate stage set up and throw more effects on his vocals. Here's the video of his performance.

Benny Benassi- Cinema (Skrillex Remix) Official Video

It's not very often you see a music video made for a remix but I guess it is fitting seeing as how this song has completely taken the world by storm and is arguably Skrillex's most popular track next to 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites'. It still baffles me to this day how massive he has become. The first time I saw Skrillex was back in 2009 when he was still riding off the reputation he had from his last band and put his name on set lists with Skrillex in parenthesis next to his name. As far as this video goes, I don't know how else to put it. It sucks... You got Gary Go and Benny Benassi putting on a motorcycle helmet with wires attached to it that allows them to view what I perceive as their dream girls on the visor of the helmet.

Reasons why I am bummed
1. The girls aren't even that hot, come on!!!
2. The girls aren't even doing anything cool! I mean come on, a girl walking through a park is the best you got! I expected more.
3. The stupid helmet is plugged into a guitar effects pedal board and an akai midi pad controller... Could you really not find other weird circuitry stuff?
4. For such an epic song there is nothing epic about the video, they are sitting in a chair watching a few girls do boring shit. I expected Michael Bay explosions, sex, drugs, and lasers.

Here's the video but watch Skrillex's video for 'Rock n Roll', way better.

Madeon 39 Track Mashup

I've always loved Madeon but I didn't know that this kid is only 17 YEARS OLD! Madeon is most known for his remixes of Yelle's 'Que Veux Tu' and Deadmau5's 'Raise Your Weapon' but honestly everything this kid has put out is incredible. This mashup video takes everything to a new level. Incredibly impressive mashup that will certainly cast the spotlight on Madeon. Check out some of his tracks below along with the video.

The Strokes- Taken for a Fool (New Video)

The Strokes have always put out great artistic music videos that never come off like they are trying too hard but I suppose that isn't hard when you have Julian Casablancas (AKA world's biggest playboy) as your front man. The video is visually stunning but trippy at the same time with every member having a clone made specifically for this video. Enjoy.

Birdy Nam Nam is Back

I'm very happy to finally say that Birdy Nam Nam is finally back after a long period of silence. The 4 piece group from France have released a song called 'Defiant Order' that stays true to their style. Not only have they released a new but they have also gotten together with The Creators Project which is a company that you may not have heard of but have more than likely seen their work. They are responsible for all the crazy production and lighting that you see at music festivals such as Coachella and do stage production for multiple artists. The Creators Project will begin covering Birdy Nam Nam come September but in the meantime they have put together a nice video that properly introduces people to Birdy which you can see HERE

The Slowdown

Previously known as BIG SLEEP. The Slowdown are a relatively new band from Manchester. Not much is known of the group except that they write great songs and have immense potential to do well. Check out their video for their song 'Sex' below.
