The other day I found out I would be going to Warped Tour next weekend to represent and the first thing I thought of when I heard this was "I get to actually witness Andrew W.K. perform". If you have no idea who Andrew W.K. is he is a musician, philanthropist, and world's hardest partier. He is best known for his 2001 album 'I Get Wet' with his hit singles 'Party Hard' and 'She is Beautiful'. What I've come to notice is that too many people find Andrew W.K. as being this big brute who writes party songs or this big fake who has created this insane persona. In my opinion I think not enough artists are like AWK. AWK has always been notorious for being an incredible person to his fans. Disco Stu actually got to meet Andrew W.K. at Warped Tour backstage a few years ago and he was nice enough let him party with him for the night and hop in on a poker game that night with the rest of the band. I've also heard on multiple occasions that the dude will sign autographs for hours upon hours and if the autograph booth gets shut down he will just go out into the crowd and continue signing autographs. They guy also holds motivational seminars at universities and conventions across the country. I've come to find that Andrew W.K. knows best the value of a fan and how important it is to make them feel apart of something special. Over the years I have found that too many bands take their fans for granted and lack the ability to connect with fans on a personal level. If after all this you still think the guy is kind of lame and don't buy it, you can't deny the guy is incredibly funny.
